As we prepare for our furlough beginning July 1, 2013, we are reminded that we are part of a much larger team. We believe in, need, and are seeking meaningful partners in missions (Romans 10:15). That is the purpose of furloughs. We pledge to be accountable to our supporters, and to do our best to solidify our relationships.
But we are not solicitors. We are sent ones.
We are not fundraisers. We are responsible for the wise use of your financial investments to reach the lost, to feed the hungry, to heal the sick, and to empower the poor.
We are not looking for a handout. We are looking to be your hand extended to the lost and suffering.
We are not program promoters. We are church planters.
Because of your partnership, we are seeing more Muslims coming to Christ than ever before!
Some of our current and potential partners have asked us what our budgetary needs will be this furlough. The simple answer to that question is that we are going to need a 5% increase in support from senders to meet our required monthly support of $9,000.
Just as we recognize that we are part of a much larger team of people committed to seeing Muslims come to Christ, we believe it is important that you — as a current or potential supporter — be reminded that when you support us, you are actually joining a much larger team than just David and Linda Arzouni as AGWM missionaries. Here are some of the partners with whom we work on a consistent basis:
Assist International
Assist International is a humanitarian organization addressing the critical needs of the world’s most vulnerable people. This essential work is accomplished in emerging countries through advanced medical programs, life-giving water and infrastructure programs, programs which provide care to orphaned and abandoned children, and educational programs. Assist International provides us with covering for humanitarian projects in Mali.
Global Initiative (formerly Center for Ministry to Muslims)
Global Initiative exists to relay the message of Christ to the more than 1.5 billion Muslims that have yet to hear it. Their aim is to equip and mobilize the church to reach Muslims everywhere. They do so by interceding for Muslims, and by inspiring, equipping, and mobilizing Christ’s global church to reach them through:
- organizing the Jumaa Prayer Fellowship (a worldwide network of believers dedicated to praying for Muslims every Friday);
- training national workers how to understand Islam, share the gospel with Muslims, and plant churches among them;
- publishing literature that informs Christians on how to understand Muslims and their diverse cultures, and also how to effectively answer Muslims’ questions; and,
- collaborating with others to identify and fund strategic church planting opportunities in Muslim areas.
Strategic Digital Outreach
Strategic Digital Outreach provides us with ongoing strategy consultation on how to use digital means to promote the cause and message of Christ.
Evidence For God’s Unchanging Word
Through their website and multiple online videos, Evidence for God’s Unchanging Word provides Muslims with an online library of rational evidence for the reliability and validity of God’s Word.
