Family
“We are smiling through our tears” sums up this year’s tsunami of losses—several dear friends and relatives went to be with Christ, my brother Farid and Linda’s father, Rev. Reino Tilus, among them.
Special Moments
February
Nine of our 14 Muslim-Background-Believers (MBBs) were baptized. They are standing courageously firm in the faith in spite of threats and persecution! For those who didn’t get to see the video — which was temporarily pulled for security reasons, watch this edited version:
March
The second classroom building at the School of Hope, and the very first village church building were built, though the finish work remains to be done. Thanks for praying and helping!June to September
Chi Alpha teams ministered at our agricultural self-sufficiency project. Their interaction with Muslim workers impacted so many! The rice fields they’ve sown have yielded the most abundant harvest to date in that entire area. Yep! we are the talk of the town and it’s opening more doors of ministry for us!October-November
Mini-furlough — we have had some great meetings with our supporting churches; incredible God-moments that have lifted our spirits and prepared us to better carry out our work!By the way, here is a sample video summary of things we shared about our ministry:
Looking Ahead
December 31 to January 9
We will attend our Mission’s all-Africa “One House Conference” in Johannesburg, South Africa.January 10-31
Wrap up legal and administrative obligations regarding the estate of Linda’s father. God willing, we will fly back to Mali on the 31st and resume another year of ministry among the Malinkes.
Wishing you a very blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration!
